Cooking in Chiang Mai

We are still in Chiang Mai, and if we didn't have to fly back to India in a couple days, there would be a high likelihood of us remaining here for...ever. The accommodations are great, the food is superb, the sights are many, the Internet is fast and all of this is cheap. Ahhhh. That is the sound of satisfaction.

Since arriving here we haven't really done a whole lot. There are all sorts of trips you can take into the mountains and surrounding area but somehow the temperature lulls you into a more sedentary way of life. Feeling a little lazy, we decided to sign ourselves up for something a bit productive. Cooking classes.

Incredibly touristy, but THE thing to do in Chiang Mai, there are classes advertised on every corner. Despite low expectations, we actually learned a lot, had a good time and of course ate way too much.

We started with a trip to the market before getting down to cooking.

Our menu for the day consisted of veggie fried rice, spring rolls, papaya salad, Chiang Mai style curry noodles and deep fried bananas. Sadly we only got a picture of the first dish and they just got better as the day went on.
