Hello again!

Well folks, in an interesting turn of events, it appears that we are no longer prohibited from posting on our blog, as we can now get past the "great firewall" and into this section of blogger. We can't actually view our blog to see what it looks like without a proxy, but hey, who's complaining? Not I. One step at a time. Things have been good on the internet lately. BBC has been back on, and yesterday we actually got onto CBC again. Yay. We like real news.

We do watch a censored version of Hong Kong news on TV, which gives us the basic "big world" stories and local Hong Kong news. But Hong Kong is not actually a very big place and the news can be, well...somewhat mundane. An example - we recently saw a story about the discovery of a crack in one of the rails on the Hong Kong metro line. I was expecting a story about a resulting near death accident, but no. The story went on to explain what the responsible city department does in such a situation, and gave a detailed play by play of crack maintenance. Then we get half a line of something that sounds interesting, and the tv breaks into burst of static, and cuts to cell phone commercials at ear splitting decibels. Ah well. As far as the internet is concerned, things seem to be settling down at least for the time being. We're glad to be back. Hello again.

Nice to see a blog from China. I think China will benefit by you being able to blog. Take pictures of the good food and post them for those of us who are far away from good Chinese food.

Cheers
